रामदास कछवाह (राजपूत चरित्र )

इधर अकबर की मृत्यु सन्निकट थी उधर दरबार में उत्तराधिकार को लेकर राजदरबार में दो गुट बन गये। एक गुट सलीम को बादशाह बनाना चाहता था व दूसरा गुट उसके बेटे खुशरो को। राजा मान सिंह व आजम खान खुशरो के पक्ष में थे। इन्होने आगरे के किले में राजकोष को अपने कब्जे में लेने का निश्चय किया व महल के उस क्षेत्र में प्रवेश किया। महलो व खजाने की जिम्मेदारी रामदास कछवाह पर थी। उसने इन हालतो में सुरक्षा व्यवस्था मजबूत कर रखी थी।
आजम खां ने जाते ही रामदास से कोष की चाबियां मांगी व प्रलोभन भी दिया। एक पुस्तक है "Raja Mansingh of Amber " written by R .n . Prasad  उसमे रामदास कछवाह ने जवाब दिया उसका बड़ा ही सुंदर वर्णन है -"Ramdas repiled  Thirty five years back ,the emperor had appointed me to guard the palace .I hold that appointment even today .The imperial treasury is laying in the palace .Thus the responsibility of safeguarding it rest on me and i have simply discharge my humble duty .I have posted strong guards at the treasury not for any tempt ion or reward but to satisfy my sense of duty .
राजा मान सिंह पास खड़े सारी बातें सुन रहे थे उनको यह जवाब नागवार गुजरा व उन्होंने कहा -"May I remind you as to who am I and what wonder can I accomplish ?
Ramdas Kachawah replied "No Maharaj ,I have not forgotten you ,how can I forget you ? I do remember that all of us belong to the same family .The same blood flows in our veins .If there can be any difference it is this that one is one is guided by feeling of devotion to duty ."
